The Estimator is responsible for estimating and project costs and performing cost analyses on all types of electrical, renewable energy and infrastructure projects.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to accurately estimate project costs while working under the pressure of multiple priorities and tight deadlines.




Include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred
  • At least 5 years of estimating experience or equivalent electrical industry experience
  • General product and material installation knowledge
  • Experience using estimating software programs such as AccuBid
  • Digital takeoff experience (LiveCount or equivalent), renewable energy, substation, transmission and distribution estimating experience is HIGHLY preferred
  • Computer literate using Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 


Include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Evaluate customer Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and align with company design, scope and services standards
  • Collaborate with and support Preconstruction Manager during design and pricing strategies, with client communications and during preconstruction collaboration with the Project Management Team on awarded projects
  • Create a conceptual system design based on initial design criteria and in alignment with company design, scope and services
  • Work with internal and external engineering team members to refine conceptual designs as needed
  • Estimate cost by quantifying and pricing the materials and labor needed to complete a project
  • Track and analyze historic cost data and apply to current estimates to reduce variance between estimates and actual cost
  • Prepare and present estimate documentation to Preconstruction Manager
  • Work independently or as part of an estimating team working on larger projects as required
  • Contribute to “turnover” meetings to explain successful bids to the assigned Project Team who will manage the project
