Overview

The Team Leader - Production is responsible for overseeing the execution of production orders.  Works alongside team members to oversee work flow to execute production orders.  Maintains safe production of quality products. Supports the Quality Management System (QMS).  The Team Leader – Production will operate out of the manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • High School diploma and two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years manufacturing experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Must have good understanding of manufacturing procedures and practices
  • Experience with lean manufacturing
  • Process and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to train
  • Microsoft AX 2012 experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Continuously stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms above shoulder height; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.
  • Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms at waist level and below the waist; and work in limited space.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Hands on work alongside team members driving efficiency and quality workmanship
  • Ensure team members are executing per the efficiency goals
  • Complete production documentation in full and accurately
  • Maintains quality while enforcing organization standards
  • Monitor work flow and quality making changes where necessary to improve throughout
  • Train team members on all applicable Work Instructions
  • Seek to improve existing standards and procedures to support continuous improvement within the department in support of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Maintain a culture of Safety including leading by example
  • Collaborate with Safety & Maintenance Supervisor on compliance within assigned work cell as well as review all incidents evaluating opportunities for improvement
  • Manage tools checked out to their work area
  • Complete excess material returns at production run completion
  • Complete Quality Inspections as required.  Coach and re-train as needed
  • Review employee timecards for accuracy ensure labor is charged to the correct production order
  • Accurate reporting of production within ERP system
  • Collaborate with SCM on pick list delivery and priorities
  • Review ERP system for production orders and material availability.  Escalate deficiencies to the appropriate departments for resolution
  • Management of non-conforming materials by identifying, tagging, and movement both physically and within ERP system when applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned
