The Production Planner is responsible for analyzing planned production orders, material availability and available production capacity required for the execution of production orders. The Production Planner will operate out of the manufacturing facility.




Qualifications include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in statistics, business, or equivalent
  • 3 -5 years previous experience in a manufacturing environment, including forecasting, scheduling, and supply chain support
  • Ability to promote and drive continuous improvement
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Analytical skills and ability to make data based decisions
  • Good understanding of customer expectations and deliverables with an awareness of the impact of failure/ cost of poor quality
  • Advanced Microsoft user to include Excel
  • Fully Trained in Microsoft AX 2012 Production Control preferred or minimum 1 year ERP experience 


  • Regularly sit, stand, and walk
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Noise level is usually moderate



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop production planning strategies and activities to maximize the use of organization’s resources to meet established production specifications and schedules
  • Analyze, plan, and release production orders to manufacturing while verifying materials and equipment required for production are available
  • Confer with management regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production
  • Establish production times and staffing requirements to provide information for management decisions
  • Provide estimated manufacturing time for assemblies and align with production team on recommended improvements and Routes
  • Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing capacity
  • Assign ownership and implement work process to drive accuracy at the BOM, route, inventory, and Item Master levels
  • Coordinate with SCM for delivery of materials to work cells as scheduled
  • Engage with SCM on delivery of PO’s in support of production orders
  • Analyze usage to establish proper safety stock and Kanban levels
  • Work to resolve problems pertaining to scheduling discrepancies and takes corrective action.
  • Identify order discrepancies and planning for forecasted demand
  • Work on urgencies regarding Item Requirements with short duration delivery dates
  • Expedite operations that delays schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
  • Drive data accuracy and inventory transaction accuracy to levels as required by Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • Work to update monthly department Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s)
  • Coordinate with Administrative Assistant on accuracy and timeliness of build packets for production
  • Report as Finished and End production orders, identify and report out on cost discrepancies
  • Seek to improve existing standards and procedures to support continuous improvement in support of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Facilitate Engineer Change Requests engaging alignment with key stakeholders
  • 7S compliance
  • Maintain a culture of safety
  • Other duties as assigned
